W.M.E Interviews: ‘Lumane’ speaks to Weekly Music Express

Who are some of your musical influences?

When I was younger and just started out with singing I always wanted to sound like Christina Aguilera. She’s such a phenomenal singer, so much vocal control, power and range! Then I got introduced to Lady Gaga and my music world kind of changed. She is by far my favorite artist. Her music is so raw and truthful and she’s obviously hyper talented. Another singer I absolutely love is Jessie J. Her music is completely different but again, she is singing her truth with her crazy acrobatic vocals that inspire me.

If you could collaborate with any artist who would you choose?<

Hands down Lady Gaga. Sometimes I wish I had a more “unique” answer to that question but then I would be lying. There is nothing she can’t do. I could learn so much from her and I think out two voices together would sound awesome. We wouldn’t only have a blast writing together but also making delicious pasta. Now, I am not Italian, like she is, but I am Swiss and we have authentic Italian food in Switzerland. When I’m not making music, I am cooking and I’d love to do both with her and just spend an unforgettable day together doing the two things I love the most.

“Taboo” what’s the song really mean to you?

Story behind “Taboo” is basically a snap shot of my life. I am in a relationship with someone that I met at a workplace. He and my dad were actually working together and I went to a business meeting between the two of them and that’s how we met. Pretty much immediately we had a connection but neither of us knew if we should pursue this relationship because it is “Taboo” to have a workplace relationship. But we decided to go for it anyways and I wouldn’t change a thing. “Taboo” will always had a special place in my heart, not only because it literally is my life but also because it’s the first single I’ve ever released.

What do you hope people take from your music when listening?

Overall, I hope it makes people feel good. I wrote my music to be truthful and the truth is not always fun. But the message behind each song is empowering and showing that everything will be alright. I think the cool thing about music is that people from completely different backgrounds can relate to the same songs. So what I really hope is that whatever they feel when listening to my music, they feel a little better than they did before and it brings a smile to their faces. A smile can be so powerful!
