TommyG—born Thomas Ramirez—is already making waves far beyond the friendly streets of Katy, Texas. It’s hard to miss the spark this young talent carries, mixing boundless energy with a voice that catches your ear and doesn’t let go. If you haven’t caught his summer anthem “Good Life Lovin’” by now, do yourself a favor and give it a listen. Released just over a year ago, this tune is a bright little slice of joy—three minutes and twenty-seven seconds packed with sunshine, friendship, and that unmistakable feeling of summer freedom.
TommyG’s story kicks off in a way many of us can relate to—he loved to sing as a kid. From school talent shows to volunteering at assemblies, he found early that music was more than just fun. It was something that lit him up inside. When Covid hit and things went quiet for everyone, he didn’t let that slow him down. Instead, he grabbed the moment to dive deeper, signing up for extra singing lessons that shaped his sound and confidence.
Soon enough, he was the go-to voice in a local band, performing at a slew of events around town—from the Back to School bash at Katy Central Green to cultural celebrations like the Chinese New Year. Each gig was a step up, each audience a fresh chance to captivate with his spirited covers and original tunes.
But 2025 was the year TommyG really kicked it into high gear. June saw him heading to the Big Apple for something truly special: the Musical Theater Summer Intensive at the Joffrey Ballet School. Now, this isn’t just any summer camp—this is Broadway training of the highest caliber, where he received top-notch lessons in singing, dance, and acting. Imagine spending three weeks living and breathing the magic of shows like The Lion King, Wicked, and Hell’s Kitchen. TommyG not only kept pace, he stood out—landing the lead role of Simba in The Lion King.
Back home in Texas, he didn’t miss a beat. He brought his boundless energy to Opry venues in Alvin, interpreting beloved country hits like Vince Gill’s “Liza Jane” and Chris Stapleton’s “Tennessee Whiskey.” The mix of country and pop flavors is just another chapter in his versatile musical tale.
Then came July, and with it, a real milestone. TommyG joined a Global Band for the 4th Annual Come Together Festival by Kids Rock for Kids (KRFK) in New York. Imagine him sharing the stage with prodigies from across the globe at iconic Manhattan venues like the Mercury Lounge and The Bitter End, the city’s legendary oldest rock club. Alongside drummers, bassists, and vocalists hailing from Japan, Chile, Gibraltar, and beyond, he helped deliver shows brimming with youthful passion and big-city grit.
This was a celebration of music’s power to connect, uplift, and inspire, especially when it brings together kids who want to make a difference. For TommyG, it was a whirlwind experience filled with friendship, music, and memories that will undoubtedly fuel his journey for years to come.
Before all this, TommyG had already made a splash with his single “SIO,” a fun, catchy track that showed off his young charisma and star quality. But “Good Life Lovin’” — that’s where he really captured hearts. The song’s message is simple and sweet: live in the moment, cherish the people you care about, and embrace the good life like every day’s a summer day.
So what’s next for our Katy kid? With a voice that can soar and a spirit that catches fire, the sky’s the limit. To watch his star rise, follow TommyG’s vibrant journey on Instagram at instagram.com/tommyg_ra and experience the good life, lovin’ every step of the way.
